Der ungarische Theologe und Physiker Stanley L. Jaki, der 1975/76 die Gifford Lectures hielt, stellt die in unseren Tagen beinahe vergessene These auf, dass weltweit wissenschaftlicher Fortschritt auf dem Glauben an einen personalen Schöpfer und Erhalter der Welt beruhe:
Science found its only viable virth within a cultural matrx permeated by a firm conviction about the mind’s ability to find in the realm of and persons a pointer to their Creator. All great creative advances of science have been made in terms of an epistemology germane to that conviction, and whenever that epistomology was resisted with vigorous consistency, the pursuit of science invariably appears to have been deprived of its solid foundation.

P. S. Dieses Buch ist eines der Gattung, die ich Seite für Seite studiere, also Knochenarbeit. Mein Tipp für solche Werke in neuen Fachgebieten: Nimm dir zwei- bis dreimal eine Stunde und versuche in aller Ruhe erst die Gesamtaussage zu verstehen und dich langsam an den Stil zu gewöhnen.
