One of the chief goals of Hebrew Education was to make sure the people would never forget and would therefore always fear God and do his commandments. In Hebrew thought, the chief spiritual malady was forgetfulness. So education had as one of its chef ends remembrance of the mighty acts that God had performed in behalf of his people. We are indeed forgetful pilgrims, and we need to be reminded of the good things that God has done in our lives…
