The world stands because God thought it and called it into being. Thus it can be said that creation is the embodiment of God’s thought. This is true with regard to the visible world as it is for the spiritual world, so that the visible world is as revelation equally good as the spiritual. It should also be noted that Bavinck says that the creation is the embodiment of God’s eternal council in time. … All things are knowable because they have first been thought by God. There is no dark, mysterial, irrational stuff in creation, for all stands in the light of the Word.
