The moral universe of Solzhenitsyn rests ultimately upon the power of the word. The Word of the Creator established this universe. The word of the writer seeks to be faithful to it. The writer’s little stories reflect the Great Story and explore its ever-unfolding details. By such means the human word upholds and even drives the universe bestowed by the original Word.
