If, then, the cultural crisis is symptomatic of an underlying spiritual crisis, the solution likewise must be spiritual, not merely cultural.

Köstenberger stellt die These auf, dass sich unsere Literatur zur Thematik symptomatisch auf die Wie- statt auf die Was- und Warum-Frage fokussiert hat.
(There is a) lack of commitment to seriously engage the Bible as a whole.
Die fehlende Verknüpfungen zeigen sich z. B. markant in der Erziehung (Pos. 2044):
Parents who neglect to hold their children accountable for rendering obedience fail them in that they do not help them along the path of Christian discipleship, of which obedience is a central component.
