Psychologische Definitionen verstehen den Konflikt jedoch nur von der horizontalen Ebene her:
These definitions strictly understand conflict to be on a horizontal level, between people. The content of conflict is a disproportion, divergence, or incompatibility. There is no spiritual or vertical aspect of conflicts. Also the resources to deal with conflict are within the realm of human capacities, understandings and skills.
Das gibt der Theologie Raum, den Konflikt weiter zu fassen und die unsichtbaren Realitäten mit einzubeziehen:
The theological perspective to conflict is broader and deeper because different aspects of conflict including invisible realities need to be taken into consideration.
Die Bibel ist voll von Konflikten, und zwar auf drei verschiedenen Ebenen:
- Kosmischer Konflikt
- Konflikte zwischen Gott und Mensch
- Zwischenmenschliche Konflikte
Das bedeutet: Auf dem Hintergrund des kosmischen Konflikts, der alle Konflikt umschliesst, und des Konflikts zwischen Gott und Mensch, für den Gott eine definitive Lösung fand, ergeben sich wichtige Einsichten für unsere zwischenmenschliche Konflikte.
