Praktisch muss es sein, nur keine Kopfarbeit. Diesen Grundton meine ich in manchen (Kirch-)Gemeinden erkennen zu können. (Zugegeben: Meine Wahrnehmung ist getrübt, ich neige eher zum Denken und vergesse dabei gerne das Handeln.) Kevin DeYoung nennt hier 6 Gründe, warum eine Gemeinde solide Theologie inkl. Kopfarbeit braucht:
- God has revealed himself to us in his word and given us his Spirit that we might understand the truth.
- The New Testament places a high value on discerning truth from error. There is a deposit of truth that must be guarded.
- The ethical commands of the New Testament are predicated on theological propositions.
- Theological categories enable us to more fully and more deeply rejoice in God’s glory.
- Theology helps us more fully and more deeply rejoice in the blessings that are ours in Christ.
- Even (or is it especially?) non-Christians need good theology.
